Effect | The caster is able to see what the target sees, from the perspective of the target. This does not convey the ability to see with any special vision or sight powers that the target has, simply as if the caster's eyes are where the target's eyes are, looking at what the target is looking at. The caster can use the target's peripheral vision, but can not focus on it, and can not control where the target looks.
If this spell is used on a hostile target, the target may resist with a Magic Resistance roll vs the casting roll, but must succeed on a perception check vs the caster's sphere rank in order to detect that magic was being used on them. If this spell is used on a target which is of a different species than the caster, the caster's mind may or may not be able to process the vision information. For example it is unlikely that a Mage casting this on a spider would be able to process the information from the multi-faceted eyes to actually obtain useful vision. The experience may even be severely disorienting, nauseating, and/or disruptive. It is possible that other spells, abilities, or even extended practice can allow the caster to be able to learn how to process information on a species-specific basis. The Storyteller has the final say for how any of this manifests. This is a Vision spell. This spell may not be used at the same time as any other Vision spell. Vision spells are blocked by line of sight interruptions exactly the same as normal vision is. Sight range limitations due to environmental effects, lighting, or spells are not ignored or modified. |
