Gather Information Skill

Gather Information is a versatile skill which may be utilized while interacting with individuals or groups of people (such as the patrons of a tavern). Characters must declare what information they are searching for before attempting the skill roll. Generally, the more successes on a Gather Information skill check, the more specific/relevant information the character is able to accumulate.

The number of successes needed to gather any information is almost always up to the Storyteller's discretion. General guidelines to use:

Successes	Information Gathered
Critical Failure	You find information that is plainly incorrect or irrelevant, and accept it as fact.
Failure	You don't find any of the information you're looking for.
1	You gain basic information about the topic you chose to gather information on.
3	A particularly nice rumor or two regarding your search has come your way.
5+	Due to a stroke of luck as well as your knowledge of who and how to ask, you have found exactly what you're looking for.
