Effect Scry may be cast in the following ways:
  • Scrying Mirror - Casting the spell in this fashion brings the image of a target on the same plane and their immediate surroundings to view in a mirror. The caster must know the target and have their image in mind when casting the spell. Unwilling targets may resist this by making an opposed Magic Resist roll. Targets failing this roll get a feeling of ‘being watched’, which may be recognized with a successful Knowledge: Magic roll. The caster may speak telepathically with a target contacted in this fashion as per Telepathy for the duration of the spell. Note that while the caster may see the immediate surroundings, they will likely not have any additional context for the target's location.
  • Scrying Ward - With a successful opposed roll, the caster gains protection from spells which would detect them magically for 1 hour. While Scrying Ward is active, the caster will automatically know if this protection has been penetrated. Additionally, casting Scrying Ward briefly conceals the caster as if they were Invisible for 1 round.
