Effect Manipulate natural forces’ effects on an item or piece of armor to increase or reduce its minimum Strength requirement by 1. This increases to 2 at Rank 3, and 3 at Rank 5. The effect is permanent unless the caster dismisses it. Items which are currently held/wielded by an unwilling target grant a Mental Resistance roll by the wielder to prevent the effect.

Increase gravity:

  • A melee weapon which is too heavy to wield effectively grants a -2 dice penalty for each point of Strength below the new minimum requirement.
  • Armor too heavy to wear gains +1 Armor Check Penalty for each point of Strength below the new minimum requirement.
  • Increasing the weight of a thrown weapon or of ranged ammunition changes penalties for firing at range so that they are applied starting within the first range increment instead of the second. Ex. A Longbow firing a heavy arrow with range increments of 20/40/60 yards would suffer a -2/-4/-6 penalty instead of the normal -0/-2/-4.

Reduce gravity:

  • A weapon which has had its minimum Strength requirement reduced to 2 Strength or lower may use Strength OR Dexterity as its primary stat for attack rolls, even if the weapon class normally requires Strength.
  • Armor whose weight is reduced may be worn effectively with lower strength, and reduces Armor Check Penalty by 1 point.
  • Reducing the weight of a thrown weapon or ranged ammunition allows the weapon to be shot farther before standard range increment penalties begin to be applied. Ex. A Longbow firing a lightweight arrow with range increments of 20/40/60 yards would suffer a -0/-0/-2
