Crilee
History
Kineon was the capitol city of Crilee, it has large white walls, and forested lands providing fertile ground for crops. Crilee was collapsed into Dakoran rule in the year 1693. It is currently 1735 Month of Darkness, 42 years later
Unlike Dakor who had involuntary military service for mages, Crilee had a Mage Guild who organized magic users and kept them under control. Their military was largely volunteer and the king was well loved, although largely a figurehead in the later years while the "Circle of Masters" a council of noble knights, guild members, and merchant princes took up much of the rulership in the land. As Dakor became more expansionist and pushed further and further into the other lands, it became clear that Crilee could not avoid a conflict or offer enough trade concessions to avoid being anexed. The Circle of Masters attempted to treat with neighboring Suriloth who had no love for the Dakorans and form an alliance. Nobody knows exactly what happened, but the alliance was stillborn and Crilee was forced to stand alone.
The leader of the Crilee Mages Guild was a powerful Ascendant High mage named Thoron Masse. The son of a minor baron, Thoron rose to power through the guild and then into the circle of masters. He had expertise in battle magic and began to train the guild to confront the Dakoran cadre, but it was too late. While Dakor is home to some number of Ascendants as well, they rarely take to the field... with Crilee's independence at stake, Crilee found unlikely protectors in another duo of travelers... the Ascendant Grand Bard Linfarr and Shade 'a Cor an Ascendant mercenary swordswoman and spokesperson for the Fighters Guild. The common people of Crilee, the various guilds, and the king's guards all fought against the invading army, but it was hopeless. The borders were overrun within weeks, and less than 6 months after the invasion began the capitol fell to imperial forces. During the final bloody battle, Thoron Masse died fighting a dozen cadre mages to a standstill before he was knifed from behind by an imperial assassin. Rumor was that both Linfarr and Shade escaped the battle, as well as one of the other Masters, Lord Damien T'Gareth, a loved figure with ties to the nobles and commoners alike.
Geography
Major Cities: Kineon (capitol), Hillfar, Penrith, Gamor, Calot, Alon
Villages & Towns: Pella’s Gift, Fennwood, Beaford, Wrenfield, Cedon
Government: Annexed Dakoran Imperial territory. Regional governor recently replaced by military command.
Religions: The Nine Blessed Gods are commonly worshipped in Crilee. Imports & Exports: Crilee has rich natural resources in land, lumber, and farming. They offered lucrative trade benefits to Dakor for many years to avoid annexation, but now provide even further benefits as an annexed power. Life & Society: Crilee has chafed against imperial rule more than most of the Dakoran conquests as they had a culture more democratic than most and most citizens had considerable freedoms. In the short 42 years since the annexation there are still many families who lost fathers, uncles, or children during the brief war. Rather than softening, hatred of the Dakorans has solidified and become commonplace.
Important Sites: Crilee was once home to a number of historic sites, including ancient temples from the time of the God War and before. Many of these were investigated and in some cases destroyed by the Mage Guild in the days prior to the Dakoran invasion.
Politics
Dakoran Military
The former Crilee capitol of Kineon is being occupied by additional forces from the 3rd Regiment, lead by General Davith Kerimar a replacement general following the resignation of General Kern to lead the 11th Regiment into what is now called the Badlands. General Kerimar has been forced to give Colonel Garon Levalas control over another city, and Levalas has taken over Hillsfar. Kineon’s garrison just had a top ranking Imperial mage arrive days ago. This is not common news, but may be learned by Gather Information. Imperial Mage Cole was sent by Imperial High Mage Aticus Raventhorn, and accompanied to his discomfort by a Shadowmaster under direct orders from the Emperor himself to identify and remove any Ascendants working towards the Crilee resistance, as well as identify who is arming the resistance with the magical weapons appearing in recent raids. The Shadowmaster has brought a group of trained assassins and spies to root out the resistance which they believe is active in Kineon.
3rd Regiment is the most active stationed regiment in the Dakoran military… formerly lead by General Kern until nearly 2 years ago he withdrew from his post to take commission with the 11th Regiment.
The 3rd Regiment is approximately 6000 soldiers divided into 3 battalions of approximately 2000 troops each. The White (cavalry/light infantry), the Blue (marines), and the Red (heavy infantry/mages). The 3rd contains largely light, heavy infantry, and cadre mages, with 3 200 man companies of cavalry including light cavalry acting as scouts.
Each battalion is broken further into 5 discreet companies divided by discipline. Heavy infantry, marine, light infantry, and irregulars with some merged squads combining their talents. This gives each squad a variety of abilities to handle situations ranging from border patrol, waste disposal, scouting operations, and more.
Children of the Sun
Eli Hanlen is the leader of the Children of the Sun in Kineon, and working with Kaevan. He will know of Joseph Bradley.
Crilee Resistance
The Crilee resistance who has recently been rejoined by Cedric (Osen Lorn), Linfarr, and Shade ‘a Corr. They are currently plotting with several directions against Dakor including aid from Suriloth. The Kingdom of Crilee had almost negotiated an agreement with Suriloth before they were annexed however they were betrayed by one of their own, an elven blademaster named Xander Moonshadow. They are also getting information from Kaevan, an elven spy.

Noteworthy NPCs
General Davith Kerimar
A young and ruthless general, Davith is gunning for the top position in the Imperial Military. He hopes one day for assignment to the 1st, and then to become the supreme military commander for the Dakoran Imperial Army. Davith is the youngest general in Dakor, and the second youngest to have ever held that rank. At 34 he is often underestimated by his opponents, both in the empire and out. He is a born strategist, but often overeager and uses force rather than subtlety more often than his predecessor General Kern who was the only man to reach the rank of general younger than Kerimar. Kerimar feels he has a lot to live up to, especially as Kern’s memory is revered having been lost in action heroically leading the 11th Army. Davith is a Fated with ranks in Lion and Raven.
Imperial Mage Cole
Former Fire/Earth cadre battle mage who still carries his fire goggles, Ring of +3 Constitution, and focus staff. Cole is a large man with a body clearly muscular under a layer of fat. Colonel Garon Levalas
Eldest brother of Brendian Levalas (Lt. who died in the 11th) and heir to the family name. A hateful man, rapist, murderer, and coward. He hates the memory of General Kern who he blames for his younger brother’s death. General Kerimar knows he is a problem, but Imperial politics have tied his hands and he must assign Levalas to patrols, where Levalas regularly abuses his power and torments the Crilee citizens. Rather than defusing the situation, he has exacerbated it. Currently Levalas is supposed to be assisting the garrison at Hillsfar, instead he has installed himself as a virtual despot and taken advantage of the citizens horribly. The man General Kerimar sent to keep an eye on him had a mysterious accident.
Cedric Amir (Osen Lorn)
A medium attractive man with salt and pepper goatee/sideburns and black dyed hair. Osen grew up as a Crilee citizen, and lost his father in the war. He was deeply moved by the Grand Bard Linfarr during her final speech to the citizens of Kineon before fleeing the Dakoran cadre and dedicated his life to music, and working against Dakor. He travelled many years later to Sha’Dar across the Narrow Sea to train with the new Grand Bard Rhilvan, seeking to master those skills as well as recruit sources for the resistance. Osen has grudgingly agreed to work with the elves and the so-called Children of the Sun to help undermine Dakoran power and give Crilee a chance to break free. Recently he’s returned from Feywald after a disastrous run-in with elven agents, and Dakoran agents. He regrets his ties to the Children and wishes to break free from them, but its moving faster than he expected and elven spies are delivering valuable information on Dakoran troop movements in Crilee. He returned with the remnant of his companions, Draneth (half elf Mind mage), Jessa (stocky blonde acrobat, Tiger adept), Shunso (checkered white/grey feran), and her sister Khajahara (black/grey feran)
