| Effect | The caster may perform a ritual which summons and binds a chosen Rank 1 Outsider into her service as a Familiar. A Familiar must be native to the plane from which the caster draws her power. This binding is permanent, and does not count towards the Summon Outsider manifest limit.
The caster may summon or dismiss the Familiar as a Standard Action, however, if the caster's Familiar is "killed" it is effectively banished to its home plane for 24 hours and may not be re-summoned during that time. If it is slain on its home plane or control is willingly relinquished by the caster, a new Familiar may be selected by completing another 10-minute ritual. |
