Koolong

Koolong is a strong trading nation recently united under the reign of Ojo Kusanagi. Warring noble families have sworn fealty to her relatively new house after her undefeated wars of conquest and subjugation in the region. Koolong is primarily a human nation, though it boasts a large population of Feran, Trolls, and Wild Elves. They have strong ties to Shingrow, even to the extent of shaping aspects of their culture around the Feran people.

Sakari

Sakari is the capital city of Koolong. It serves as the seat of government, as well as the home of various finishing schools in the arts of warfare, economics, and other more specialized skills.

Ojo Kusanagi

The world of Lorithandar has survived many great wars... one of the most recent between Devin and Koolong.

The neighboring city-state of Sha’Dar, often called “The City of Mages” was the heart of the conflict. The lucrative trade and magical artifacts generated by the city were the prizes both countries sought, first through diplomacy, then stealth, guile, sabotage, and eventually open war. Ojo Yamada, the ruler of Koolong trusted in his nation’s superior numbers and skill at arms, which lead to his death in the field facing Devin’s superior magic. The war grew bitter and more deadly with each passing year, as both sides committed their resources to the destruction of their enemy for 100 ceaseless years.

Many tales are told of how the war ended… but they all agree the final battle took place on a field the Koolongi named “Daraku Shi’ta”. A female Koolongi warrior monk took up a mysterious magical sword and carried the battle, singlehandedly defeating the strength of Devin’s elite. However, instead of executing the Devin general, she laid down her sword and proposed peace between the people. The former monk, was called “The Untouched” for during the battle of Daraku Shi’ta no sword, arrow, or spell could harm her. Her own people chose her to be the next ruler of Koolong, and for several months Ojo Kusanagi has tried to set matters in her kingdom right, while the uneasy peace holds.

High Lord and Lady Shinomura

Ojo Kusanagi's most outspoken critics. House Shinomura has openly and loudly protested the reign of Kusanagi The Upstart. House Shinomura is among the largest and most powerful clans on mainland Koolong.

High Lord Ioshi

A powerful merchant lord with extensive holdings along Koolong's east coast. Ioshi elevated his station during the final chaotic years of the 100 Year War.

High Lord Yaju

Protector of the South. During the 100 Year War, he and his fellow small noble houses had a constant dagger at their back with the border to the Wild Elf Lands, while also warring with their rivals within Koolong. When the time came after the unification, the council of noble houses unanimously elected Lord Yaju to represent their interests in the South, significantly increasing his station and influence.

High Lord Tais

Lord of the Western lands. His family has long held influence as far as Shadar and Devin. House Tais was powerful for generations and has maintained their prominence through the 100 Year War and the Unification.

High Lord Bonshu

Ruler of a large island off the coast, Lord Bonshu has held power and influence since before the Ojo ended the war. House Bonshu is the single oldest noble family in Koolong. Their island afforded them natural protection during the decades of war, as did their constant neutrality.

High Lord Hisashi

Ojo Kusanagi’s most trusted general. A man of common birth who rose to prominence in the 100 Year War and was granted land and title for his loyal service.

High Lord Kenji

High Lord Kenji, The Knife. The man is a butcher. He rose to power in a silent war of assassins in the final decade of the 100 Year War.

High Lady Yamato

Not much is known of the current Lord of the Yamato House. Raised and trained in Shingrow, the enigmatic Lady was called home to take her rightful seat after her father’s assassination. She is often seen in the company of of her Feran entourage.
