Avemroth

Of the Free Cities, the Blue City of Avemroth has earned the nickname City of Temples for its significant temples to all five Dragon gods and to each of the Blessed Gods. The city's Ruling Guild established the Temple Guild in order to keep track of the legally registered priests of each temple within the city. Only one priest from each temple must sit on the Temple Guild, but they are required to keep rolls of all active personnel. Channellers from other cities are strongly encouraged to register with their respective temples in order to receive the full protections of the temple's patronage.

Four temples of the Blessed Gods share combined temple complexes with two of the Dragon Gods. The temples of Kevalth and the Twins, Khitar and Nimway, meet at the Eye of Kevalth in the Abenbury River to form the Kekhinim Temple. The temples of Thalu and Kravnos form a gateway at the base of the Wiccdun (magic mountain), atop which sits the temple of Tyrath. As a natural outcome of these close relationships, the priests at the Kekhinim Temple are wood elf triplets, while the priests at the Wiccdun are high elf siblings.

The cults of Irrilandrilla and Kao are recent arrivals to Avemroth. While some notables in the city are aware of (or members of) these cults, their priests have not yet joined the Temple Guild.

Leadership/Organization

Roles:

  • Due to their close involvement with the law enforcement of the city and their interaction with the Scribes Guild, the temple of Alkaizer volunteered its Vicar-General to preside over the Temple Guild. The Temple Guild's sole function is record-keeping, so the role conveys only minor prestige upon the president.
