The Lady of Thorns

The Lady of Thorns is an ascendant spirit and the most well-known deity of the Wild Elves of Karn.

Origin

In antiquity, the Lady of Thorns was a minor nature spirit of central Karn with little to no influence on the world around her. She watched the ages pass, saw Lorithandar grow and change as it was populated by races which took little to no notice of the damage they caused to the world around them. As time passed, the Lady grew wise and powerful, gaining the favor and allegiance of many lesser spirits. Eventually, she ascended and, after offering her assistance during the crisis at what became Kola Menaga, earned her place as the revered deity of many Wild Elves.

Religion

The Lady of Thorns has little care for mortals or other gods, and places the sanctity of Nature itself first and foremost in her care. She is sometimes considered cold and uncaring toward those who follow her; this is simply because she prioritizes the balance of nature over the needs of individual beings. She also often utilizes the spirits in her retinue as intermediaries to communicate with her mortal following. The Wild Elves of Karn serve her mostly by forming close ties with spirits and preserving the world around them rather than by outright worship. She will occasionally choose mortal champions and task them with deeds to benefit nature and the spirit realm.
