This a page for a quick review of the status of what development needs exist for this system. It is NOT automatically updated, and will require periodic review of the whole system to update.

This page is generally structured to mirror the TOC, with sweeping changes needed listed at the top.

Sweeping Overhauls

  • Fire
    • Background
      • Per balance discussion regarding Undead mortal damage and potential fire DoTs and/or Burning debuffs, the following is proposed for balance adjustments
    • Remove Fire's Mortal effect on Undead
    • Remove or replace the Mortal mechanic entirely (Holy vs chaotic, Unholy vs lawful, Fire vs Undead, Light vs shadowy, Shadow vs light based)
    • Add a balanced Burning mechanic
      • Proposed to have a 'Burning #' where the # indicates the amount of damage taken per round for the duration
      • Review of all spells and effects which have the Fire descriptor an evaluate each as well as all together contextually to determine which may gain a Burning effect, and to what degree. Balance vs Frost and Lightning is key, as is distribution across Sources.
  • Economy
    • Background
      • There is no existing economy. financial numbers exist in a number of different places, from item cost to value of goods, to income, but no set economy is really determined.
    • Proposal 1:
      • A Semi 'Flat' economy, where there is a canonical source, such as Tyr, and other regions have modifiers or shifts in economy based on regional factors.
        • Example: Magical items cheaper and more readily obtained in Arvendor and Sha'Dar, more expensive and harder to obtain in the Northern Wastes
    • Proposal 2:
      • An overarching rule set is developed, into which each region's more specific attributes is fed, and the economic scales are generated independantly. This would require more of an app-based approach to calculation and management, but Mike suspects that this would be required anyway., and the development of such an app would make future management much easier.
