Leadership Skill
Leadership is the art of directing and organizing others towards a goal. Equal parts personal charisma, and respect for your capabilities may result in people following you, and being effective. Leadership requires personal investment in the situation, and is rarely valuable from a distance.
With a successful Leadership check you may Direct a group towards taking a particular action, gaining loyalty (in the form of improved Disposition) for successful completion of objectives. Successful Leadership rolls provide bonuses to subordinates who follow you. A Leadership check is an opposed roll vs. targets Leadership skill.
Direct
Difficulty is the rating of how hard it will be to direct and organize targets towards a task. The more difficult or dangerous the task the higher the difficulty. The difficulty number is the amount of successes over the target's opposed successes required for behavior. If the task you direct is successful the targets Dispositions (see Diplomacy) permanently raise by 1. If the task you direct is unsuccessful, targets Dispositions may be lowered at the DMs discretion.
- Critical Failure: The targets refuse to follow you and their Disposition towards you lowers permanently by 1.
- 0 or fewer successes: The targets are unconvinced and refuse to follow your direction.
- 1+ Successes: You influence the targets to support your efforts with the number of successes applying to the Difficulty chart for Diplomacy.
- 5 Successes: Targets support your efforts and immediately raises their Dispositions towards you by 1.
Support
Leadership grants a +1 dice competence bonus to Non-Fated characters you direct for the duration of your Leadership. This bonus increases to +2 for targets with a Disposition of Ally (see Diplomacy).
